Thank-you all so much for praying for Lina! Do you remember her? She was introduced in June’s update as the newest girl in the home.

She’s doing great! She’s enjoying going to church a lot! Lina also has started therapy with Rosio (our psychologist). She is presently in school and we have taken her to see a physician to evaluate her. She was prescribed antibiotics and vitamins and thankfully her health has improved considerably. Would you please continue to pray for her?
In the Outreach Program we keep ‘a closer eye’ on the girls we classify as higher risk. Since the beginning of the year, we have been following 7 girls more closely. Would you believe 4 of them had no personal documents in January? Yes, 60% of them! Basic personal documents in Bolivia are a birth certificate and ID. If a person in Bolivia do not have these it basically means they’re invisible to the Government and can’t prove their Bolivian citizenship. As a result of having no documents, a person can’t access any social services (including access to public health and public education). Not having any personal documentation is also an example of the level of neglect in which the girls live. Today we can happily report 100% of these 7 girls have documents. As Amparo, we have devoted more than 100 hours this year in order to get this completed.
Some other things we have been up to in our Community Outreach Program last month:
– Five school tutoring sessions: The three oldest girls from our girl’s home went as volunteers and did a great job!

– House visits twice a week, a total of 32 hours visiting the girls in their houses. We visited all 28 girls in our Program! Plus seeing tons of relatives!

– Three workshops on hygiene and personal care which included the visit of a pediatrician, a dentist and a personal care specialist. We had an average of 26 girls.

– Winter campaign on Saturday 30th. Medical checkups, hand out of vitamins, medicine (according to doctor prescription) and 3 items of clothes to 70+ kids. Click on the picture below to watch a great 2 min video about the event.

For the past three years, the summer months tend to be the time we accrue the least income. We would love to break that trend and grow this year! Would you consider making an extra donation to Amparo?
