Our Values

As a Christian organization Amparo is rooted in Christian values and virtues

Love

Decision of affection, inclination and handing over to someone. That is accompanied by feelings, Will and good actions, wishing the supreme well-being of the loved one. Love cannot exist without forgiveness; it is patient, full of
goodness, humble, selfless, gentle and resilient. Love to God, others and self.

To God

We love God because He first loved us. God is love and love finds its deepest and clearest definition in that God gave his Only Begotten Son so that everyone who believes in Him Will not perish, but have eternal life. As created beings we can love because Gods initiative towards us. Because of His love we have the ability to love Him with our entire being.

Our decision to serve those we understand to be most vulnerable in our context is based on the love we receive from God, who commands us to offer His love to others. Being mercy love in action. Love for people who, by the simple fact of existing and being human, have exactly the same intrinsic value, dignity and attributes as any other human being, since we were all created in the image of God. It is necessary to mention here that we believe that the value of people is unquestionable and only depends on their condition of being human and being alive, regardless of their sex, age, nationality, ethnicity, socio-economic condition, etc. Assuming that every person, regardless of any characteristic, state or condition, has exactly the sarne value as any other, being worthy of love, respect and decent treatment.

If we do not love ourselves, we cannot and Will not know how to love others. A vertical love relationship Will generate balance between the intrapersonal love relationship and interpersonal love relationships.

Justice

Justice is more than giving to each what corresponds. It has to do with living a life
of integrity and impartiality. This includes being honest, flexible, sincere and
keeping promises. That is, living in such a way that we can reflect the character of
God in our conduct.

Justice cannot remain silent in the face of things that are contrary to it. If it does
not stand in the gap to defend the defenseless, eradicate danger and injustice,
and endure pain and discomfort for the good of others, because, just as love is,
justice is practical and active. Justice is the visible result of love.

Community

We were created as relational beings who need each other in healthy interdependence to exist. We are convinced that the interpersonal differences that are revealed in the interaction with one another lead us to grow and enrich our existence as individuals. Recognizing that we are different, but within that difference we need and must live in community and unity, based on love, justice and respect, and valuing the opinions and preferences of others. Coexisting together, complementing each other, enjoying the differences that create a better and more solid unit.

No human being is an isolated entity separated from the other; no man is a lonely island in the middle of the ocean. The reason for having been created for interdependence and relationships is that only in the unity of mutual agreement, only in community, is it possible to achieve the redemptíve goals that God has for
this world.

Hope

The main driver for being agents of transformation, who get involved in restoring the lives of people who in turn Will become agents of transformation for others, is to live in the light of eternity. A real focus on the place where love, justice cnd community Will bear fruit. Leading us to live in such a way that we leave a legacy of goodness and transformation in this broken world.

When circumstances overwhelm us with disappointment, woundsr difficult moments, brokenness, closed doors and unreasonableness, hope motivates us to continue walking in the fulfillment of the redemptive goals of the Lord, because more than momentary gratification, our continuous expectation of eternal life it impels us to look for an eternal fruit, a lasting mark in the people that the Lord
allows us to help.

Service

The joyful self-sacrifice for the well-being of the other. Knowing that it is better to give than to receive, and that we could not give without first receiving from the Lord, since He is the source of all that is good, the Supreme Good, we understand that service ís a divine initiative to which we are invited to follow and participate, a mark of love, a fruit of justice, the characteristic of those who live with hope and
affect life in community.

Morality

There is a standard, a pattern, a measure of conduct that evidences the existence and practice of all values. It is what determines and governs that in our actions that we define as good or bad. The moral decisions of people, more than written laws, are what constitutes and determines the healthy and fruitful structure of society.

Without moral responsibility freedom dies.
Without moral responsibility, there is no justice.
Without moral decisionsr expressions of love cannot be perceived as such,
service is useless and life in community is impossible.
